AWARD WINNING WAR POEM

Updated: Mar 9, 2019

This is an exert or a poem I wrote about war. I won a scholarship for it, so I though is was with sharing. Feel free to contact the team for the full version of this poem.

Tick tock tick tock, is the noise made by the vicious circle of war A life is given to take away another in the name of passion Tick tock tick boom! A bomb blew away two fathers enemies by destiny Tick tock tick tock, is the noise made by the vicious circle of war Now the hearts of two young boys unite in pain bleeding their way to unending vengeance

I woke up this morning thinking about you dad You left a year ago and since my mornings are sad I wonder, what color is the sky in Bagdad? I wonder a thousand things at the end of each day When I am going to bed at night with you still very far away

I woke up this morning thinking about you dad You have always been here on my birthday before you left for Jihad I asked God, why His choice was my dad? I asked God to take away the black whole left by your absence Mom says you chose to lose your life, how could this make sense?

In the news tonight the lady said that Unit 43 was taken down by a suicidal bomber In the news tonight the lady said that no survivors were found I heard her but I kept playing with my plane, the rehearsal game of your returnThe cool game I play every time I miss you daddy

The cool game of the plane leaving Bagdad to bring you back home to me

In the news tonight the man said that a holy man died for Islam again He was carrying explosives and jumped on an American moving vehicle In the news tonight the man said that everything was pulverized by the explosion I heard him but I kept memorizing your favorite Koran verse for the day I see you again I heard the neighbors shouting Allah Akbar! Death to those dogs! Death to America!

Tick tock tick tock, is the noise made by the vicious circle of war A life is given to take away another in the name of passion Tick tock tick boom! A bomb blew away two fathers enemies by destiny Tick tock tick tock, now it is just a matter of time before two sons rise up to fight again Passions know no reason to put an end to the unending circle of war
